Our Story
Senior and Junior in College
Our first meeting was at UPH. We were in the same major, Mathematics Education. Evander was in cohort 2012, whereas Tia was in cohort 2013. Our relationship back then was no more than a senior and junior in college. We never talked to each other, nor had a special moment together. Then in 2016, Evan graduated first and got a placement in Toraja, South Sulawesi.
Toraja is a very special place for our core memories
Fortunately, in 2017 Tia also got placed in Toraja. We had several jobs together, especially in Pramuka. Starting from this, we then communicated. The main difference that we had, which is our different cultures, doubted whether we should continue to more serious stages or not. We started to pray. Our relationship got intense in early 2018. Then, on 1st August 2018, we were beginning our journey together.
The journey was getting more excited
As time went by, in 2019 Evan finished his work contract in Toraja. He then continued his studies and worked in Jakarta. We had an LDR for one year until the next year in 2020 Tia also pursued her dream in Jakarta. A lot of things happened during this year. Evan’s official meeting with Tia’s parents and family in Solo.
Knotting the tie
Evan then proposed to Tia on the 31 of July 2021 (surely he was so nervous back then). We then planned to get engaged in October, but somehow we made it on 19 of September 2021. Discuss a lot of things before marriage. We believe that none of this story is without God’s lead. By God’s sufficient grace, we will knot the tie on the 2nd of July, 2022 in Perdagangan, and continue with the wedding reception in Solo on the 7th of July, 2022.
